Casey Desmond and Casey Grabowski met in late summer of 2014 while Desmond was finalizing her East Coast tour, sharing 2 billings in and around Philadelphia. Desmond was billed as herself, and Grabowski as the Philadelphia-based synthwave group NEAREST.
Like many performers who share a stage, they loosely discussed collaboration and over the next year they worked to make it happen.

In February 2016, Desmond released her 1st EP under the moniker CMB (Cosmic Microwave Background), which featured their collab track “EV”. "EV'' infuses Desmond's striking, up-front pop vocal, and lush synth pads, into Grabowski’s curated mix of cold orchestral stabs, and wandering arps, giving new life to each other’s take on the song's concept. The lyrics, in simple terms, are about the difficulty of letting go.

The Casey's are happy to announce this remix package of “EV”, which features 5 new versions, as well as the original version for reference. The goal was to allow the remixers to take significant liberty on the concept, while still keeping some core elements. The result is an interesting array of work, ranging from coldwave, to new-school house, to ambient glitch.
